The Green Jacket

pictures taken by denise siepe

bought this 'jacket' some weeks ago in sale at zara. i love the silky and flattery fabric and the perfect cut of it. you can wear it in summer as a light jacket with a top, it's not thicker than a silkblouse, and fits perfectly in my bag when it gets too warm.

i always thought that green was not my color, but this shade somehow suits me, my haitr and my skin.

the pants once were quite tight at my thights, but after loosing almost 20 kg of weight i thought i have to throw them. but i actually like the new fit of it, it's a great and easy look for summer.

all in all i like this slouchy and easy look in summer. when your hair is wavy and tangled, the make-up light and the outfits uncomplicated.

well, i think thats a way, not only fashion is going the next years. simplicity, in all areas. simplicity in thinking, being and acting. being uncomplicated and not too concerned about everything and everyone. taking a step back from the urge of being perfect and recollect on oneself and the beauty in genuineness.
you can see that trend already in fashion, as the birkenstock hype is the best exsample^^

what do you guys think? is it going to be something that has a potential to change us and our environment?

i think i'm going to write something about that in one of my next posts, how i experience it and what i have observed. i think it's worth an extra post :)

Real and Steal: Alexander Wang Dasha Boots

images via Victoria Törnegren, Alexander Wang and Choies

I have a crush on these Alexander Wang Dasha booties since i saw them for the first time, and some days ago i saw they're on SALE. but they're still FAR out of my budget right now, though i would really love to own this beautifull pair of shoes.
today i saw the gorgeous victoria törnegren rockin these babes in her blogpost. i was quite sure she's wearing the A.Wangs, but then when i checked on her shirt i saw her shoes are from choies.

so choies did it again, they seem to have the just EXACT same shoe in store. when i had a closer look at the choies picture i recognized they just took the A.Wang picture and photoshoped the labels name on the inside sole and the reflection beneath.
well, i think thats quite presuming. i do want to see the product i want to purchase, and not just an image of the product it was inspired by. though they seem to look great, as we can see on victoria törnegrens outfit picture.

ok, here are some facts:
the Alexander Wang Dasha boots are on sale right now. the old price was 685 $ (~533 €), the sale price is 432 $ (~336 €), which is a quite big reduction. they're available here

the choies price is 109,99 € and according to choies 100% real leather. available here

this illustrations each took me about half an hour to 45 minutes and are quite good for my "first" try. i have to say, i've learned a lot in 12 days of photoshop course. sure, it's far from perfect, but i think it's good enough to share it with you guys.

if you want to comment, please be so kind and keep in mind that it was my first try today and i'll need way more practice^^

Health: Coconut Water

heat wave alert! summer will hit germany with it's full intensity this week and we have to be prepared. one of the most important things during this time is to keep our bodies hydrated. drinking enough water is really important, and unsweetened tea is a good option as well.

but there are other drinks that are ideal to hydrate the body, plus they have some great health benefits that your normal water can't offer.

today i'm talking about coconut water. it's derived from young coconuts, before the liquid develops into the flesh of the coconut. it's taste may be irritating for those who expect the coconut taste we all now from the creamy coconut milk, but it's very refreshing and tasty.

here are the major health benefits:

hydrates
drinking coconut water can replenish the fluids in your body, and it provides essential nutrients that are not available in regular water.
in fact, coconut water can be a better option compared to popular sports drinks, because it helps to restore the electrolytes in the body without the added sugar and chemicals that are found in sports drinks.

boosts metabolism

coconut water is naturally fat free and low in calories and it also boosts your metabolism. these benefits make it a great supplement to use during weight loss and it may help you get rid of those pesky pounds when it is combined with other healthy habits.

lowers blood pressure
coconut water has a low amount of sodium and a high amount of potassium, which is the perfect combination to reduce blood pressure levels. in addition to drinking coconut water, you should also eat other natural, whole foods for maximum health benefits.

prevents diseases

coconut water has anti-viral properties and drinking it on a regular basis helps to fight off infections and illness.
in fact, some health specialists have suggested that coconut water helps to boost the immune system in addition to treating any current health condition, which means that it can prevent future illnesses.

removes toxins
toxins build up in our body every day as a result of normal body processes and the environment that we live in.
drinking coconut water can help the body to get rid of those toxins quickly and efficiently.

so all in all, coconut water is a great thing! it amazing for your health and great for your skin. it helps to clear it up by boosting your immune system and fighting the toxins.

the best source is a fresh cocnut which you just have to cut open or make a hole into. if you can't get your hands on a green coconut, most of the supermarkets have coconut water in store. most of them are organic, which is very important to me. make sure there is only one ingredient on the list: coconut water. some have added sugars or fruits, if you like it, be aware that the amount of calories is way larger, and you should count it as sweets, like chocolate or other limonades.

for my german friends who don't know where to get coconut water: alnatura has it in store (at DM e.g.), and at most REWE you can get it, right where the fresh milk is.

have you ever tried it? whats your favourite summer drink? does it have any health benefits?

Trend Alert: Stripes

images via pinterest.com, tumblr.com

sure, stripes aren't new, not to me and not to you. they come back every spring and dominate our waredrobe. but this year they are hot hot hot! before it was the classic striped shirt, the coco style, that was found in every fashionable waredrobe as a basic. but now they are everywhere. you'll find them on any kind of pants, shorts, skirts, dresses, shirts and jackets. the classic blue or black and white stripe combo still dominates, but you can find them in any kind of color combination this summer. why not go for an blue-green striped silk blouse?
pants with longitudinal stripes are a big deal this summer. they apeared last summer in form of skinny jeans with black and white stripes (e.g. mango) and were sold out in a second. this summer you find them in any form, like marlene, flaired or shorts.

the stripes took the plunge from the maritime look into the big fashion world. sure, you can still wear them in a classy maritime coco look, but why not trying something new? just experiment, now is the time for that^^ mix a striped shirt with leo or floral prints, break a maritime look with a heavy leather jacket and boots. your imagination sets the limits!

what are your favourite striped looks or outfits?

The New Icons

pictures taken by viola c.

and here we go again, finally a new outfitpost! this pictures were taken back in may, and i thought i had already posted them. but then i realized, i didn't. so here they are.

when i first saw the 'the new icons' shirt i fell in love. i just had to get it, and by the way, it was just 8 euro or something. i have it for about 2 month now and wore it just three times. i don't like the quality of the shirt, the fabric is just too thin and you can easily see through, which i absolutly don't like on white basic shirts.

i'm not doing any german translations anymore now, until somebody tells me via comment or mail to do again. it's always extra work, and if nobody reads it anyway, i'll skip that.

an meine deutschen leser:
ich mache jetzt so lange keine deutschen übersetzungen mehr, bis mir jemand via kommentar oder mail sagt ich soll wieder damit anfangen. es ist immer ne menge extraarbeit, und wenn eh keiner den text liest spar ich es mir halt.

images via camilleovertherainbow.com, zara.com, shadestation.co.uk

sorry for the lack of updates the last two weeks. had so much to do, i know, thats not a good excuse, but it's true. right now i'm taking part in a photoshop course and had to do a collage to practice some stuff. and here is what i did, just a little thing, an outfit i really liked from camilleovertherainbow.com.
you can see her full post here. her blog is one of my favourite blogs, if not my number one blog out there. you really should stop by her site if you don't know her yet. she's just gourgeous!

two other little projects i did at the course are these:

it does look simple, and when you know what to do and where to click it really is ^^

do you still want my german translation? all the respond i get is in english, and if nobody reads the german text, i will skip it^^

wollt ihr noch meine deutsche übersetzung? alle reaktionen die ich bekomme kommen auf englisch, und sollte niemand die deutschen texte lesen, lasse ich sie weg^^
